Ears flying, little legs pumping, contestants in the annual Buda Wiener Dog Races and Costume Contest speed across the grass toward the finish line. This Best in Show meets Seabiscuit documentary – an audience favorite on the festival circuit – covers all the highlights of the weekend-long event, which takes place in a city that bills itself as the “Wiener Dog Capital of Texas.” It’s all here: the costume parade, costume contest, and finally, the dash of the Dachshunds. A slice of small-town American life, the event also serves a good cause, as a portion of the proceeds goes to support the work of the Buda Lions Club and selected non-profits.

Official Selection of the 2005 New Orleans Film Festival
Lord of the Wiens is an official selection of the 2005 New Orleans Film Festival. Of course, the festival has been delayed due to Hurricane Katrina but the good news is they are all okay and plan to either re-schedule in 2006 in New Orleans or hold it in another city. Our thoughts are with them and everyone from New Orleans at this very difficult time. We’ll keep you posted.
